Inside the NASCAR Driving Experience

!±8± Inside the NASCAR Driving Experience

It is possible to experience the real excitement and adrenaline rush of a professional NASCAR driver. These racing cars whip around an oval track at over 200 miles per hour! And now everyone has the opportunity to get in that car and drive it around the track. This is called the NASCAR Driving Experience and is truly a thrill of a lifetime.

There are several tracks across the nation that offers this experience...for a certain price of course. Texas Motor Speedway is one that makes you make a reservation well ahead of time. They want to ensure the track and cars are all in drivable conditions so it is as safe as possible. If you are too afraid to drive the car yourself you may opt to be a passenger and do a ride along instead.

The NASCAR Driving Experience is a chance for you to get to drive a real NASCAR on a track just like the professional car drivers themselves get to do for a living. This authentic form of racing allows you to drive the same type of car as your favorite NASCAR racers. Get in the driver's seat of a car that is driven by Jeff Gordon, Jimmie Johnson, and the brothers Kurt and Kyle Busch.

You will get to experience everything that a normal driver gets to experience. This means that as you are flying down the track with the pedal to the metal, you'll have communication with the pit crew using an official NASCAR headset and communication system.

Most tracks allow the driver that pays for this experience three hour time allotments. You will get to pull the car through the tunnel and into the infield garage. Then you will have to check in, get all geared up, go to a short driving lecture and training class, and get to meet your assigned crew chief. Once it is your turn to go you will be notified by a pager or beeper provided by the school. Then you will get to hop in the car and go down the track with no pacer car in front of you. You can tear down that track as fast as you can go!

Your sessions will be timed and you will be given a certificate with stats on how fast you went, time of laps, etc. These certificates can and should be kept as a souvenir of your NASCAR driving experience. You can then display them proudly at home or at work and brag to your friends about how fast you drove.
